14 weeks old and 14 lbs!

Cara had a check up today with the doctor and she now weighs in at 14 lbs exactly and she is about 25.5 inches long. She is in the 90th percentile for weight and 97th percentile for height! Nice and big the doctor said :)

She is very strong and loves to sit up so we went and got her a "Bumbo" seat. She LOVES it so far! It supports her really well and as you can tell by the smile above she likes that! In her gorgeous lilac outfit (thanks, Aunt Jill) she looks like a purple gumdrop in her new seat :) so cute!

13 weeks old - growth spurt!

Cara had me busy this week - she is going through a growth spurt and was eating almost constantly! Very exhausting! Looks like she's past it now...we'll see how much she gained next week at her check-up.

We were put back in the cold temps this week so we've been hanging out at home...which was fine by Cara since all she wanted to do was eat and sleep! I'm looking forward to the spring time when we can get out of the house more - even just for walks around the neighborhood.

Hard to believe that she is 3 months old already...time is flying!

12 weeks old - sorry late post :)

Cara had a great week - her Auntie Sarah came for a visit and so Cara played hostess :) She got out of the house alot - to the mall and to Starbucks and for great walks. The weather was fantastic - reached +15 some days and beat a few records! After the deep freeze we had it was very welcome - we all needed the fresh air and sunshine :)

Adam has been coming home at lunch time which has been great - Cara loves the visit and so do I - it gives me a break so I can eat lunch!

Aunt Sarah's arrival - just before nap time!

11 weeks old!!

Cara is quite the cutie at 11 weeks old :) It was a cold and snowy week here so we stayed in all week but we played dress up and Cara is getting very expressive! She was quite happy to model some of her cute outfits. My manager at work gave her the pink fur coat - sooo cute!

Her motor skills are moving along...she held on to the rattle (see photo below) for about 3 seconds! And will sit up while being held up. She gets pretty proud of herself and is all smiles after her "workouts".

We have Chinooks coming in and temperatures should be well above zero so we'll get out for some walks and fresh air. And we're looking forward to Aunt Sarah's visit this week!!

10 Weeks old! Happy New Year!!

Cara had her 2 month vaccinations on New Year's Eve. She took the needles as expected...lots of screaming :( She weighs 12 lbs 8 ozs now and is growing right on schedule. She's been sleepy and a bit fussier since the needles but not too bad. It was very sad seeing her get so upset and we get to take her for them again in 2 months - poor thing. To make things fair though Adam and I both got shots as well - tetanus for us both and a flu shot for me. The nurse was handing out shots like candy!

We had a nice stay at home New Year's Eve - Cara was fast asleep in her crib while we counted down at midnight. We're looking forward to seeing everyone in 2009 one way or another - we'll be heading to NB and we're always open to having visitors :)

It's back to being extremely cold again here...hope it warms up soon!
