New Car!

We got our new car this week!  Daddy went to pick it up on Thursday and Cara and Gwen had to go check it out in their pjs before going to bed.  Cara was so excited to see it and crawl around inside.  Her favourite part was climbing in the trunk! 

 

So much roomier in the back seat for the girls now and they can see out the windows much better.

 

Our first trip was back to Bowness Park on Friday.  It was a gorgeous day (+30) so we went to feed the ducks.  Cara and Gwen both had a lot of laughs at the ducks and seagulls.

 

The birds are so tame they were stepping on Cara's feet!

 

On Sunday we took our last trip of the season to Calaway Park.  This time we met our friends Freya, Verity and Rod there.  The girls had their faces painted as kitties this time.

 

Cara showed Freya all the cool rides.

 

And they took their moms on some rides too.

 

Gwen got to go on some rides too.  She really enjoyed the balloon ride with Cara and Freya and the Dads.

We have been enjoying the great extended summer this September and are looking forward to our trip to NB for Thanksgiving!

Face Painting DIY and Peek-A-Boo

After Grampy departed for NB on Wednesday we all spent the rest of the week getting used to not having Grampy around here.  Cara and Gwen miss their Grampy!

Cara really enjoyed having her face painted last week.  She gave face painting a try this week:

We are having a beautiful September here.  On Sunday we went to Bowness Park and fed some ducks, explored the river banks and enjoyed the warm sun!

Grampy's Visit!

We had a wonderful visit with Grampy this year.  He arrived just before lunch time so after we picked him up at the airport we went to the big Crossiron Mills mall.  Cara and Gwen had a great time riding around in a firetruck!  Gwen was so happy to have her own steering wheel too.

We took Grampy to the playground (we were very lucky to have gorgeous weather!).

And went for an ice cream!

Cara showed Grampy her plant.  She planted 2 sunflowers at the Stampede this year and she loves to watch them grow.

On Saturday we rented a car that we could all fit in and after our family swimming class we went for a road trip to show Grampy Elbow Falls.  Well, after we drove all the way there we found out it was closed due to bear activity in the area!  So we took our picnic down the road a bit to Allen Bill Pond.  We saw no bears.

 We had a nice picnic and got to see part of the Elbow River.

After the picnic we jumped back in the car and drove to Cochrane and took Grampy for a "World Famous" MacKay's Ice Cream!

On Sunday we took Grampy to Calaway Park!

It was another beautiful day!  We are wearing out our season passes this year!

Daddy took Cara on many rides this time.  This was the new ride "The Flying Ace".  After the ride started Cara said to Daddy "I want to go on a different ride".

Monday we went to the zoo.  It was a cooler overcast day so it was a perfect day for the zoo.

Cara is a very neat ice cream eater.

Cara was a bit shy with Grampy sometimes but she warmed up by the last day and got to enjoy some story time.  Grampy was a great movie watcher with Cara and Gwen too.

Grampy's been visitin'

We have been very busy visiting with Grampy and the full blog update is being worked on.  We had a great week and check back for the full update tomorrow.  Today some picture highlights!
