Cara had her last climbing class and could bring a friend so here she is helping Leah climb!
They had lots of fun!
Gwen loves drawing from her memory. Here are some examples of her Disney princesses.
Ariel/Aladdin and Jasmine/Rapunzel with Flynn Rider
Gwen finished up another dance class.
Here she is with her teacher.
This session she did "movers and groovers" instead of ballet.
Pretty much the same thing.
Cara's class did a project with Skoki the Husky dog.
Each day one student got to bring the stuffy home with a book and a journal.
We read the book then included Skoki in our day and Cara wrote what Skoki did in the journal.
She was lucky and got to bring him home for a whole weekend!
She even brought him to skating class!
(He watched from the stands)
Her class also learned about Inukshuks and they could build one at home to take to class.
She wanted to build and Inukshuk out of Inukshuks!
And she did!
March 14
Pi Day!
We had Lemon Meringue!
The day before Spring Break Gwen went to see a musical with her friend from kindergarten.
She really liked the show and still talks about the dragon.
The last day of kindergarten before the break was fun too - Gwen's class had been learning about owls and a real owl came to the school!
Mommy got to volunteer that day - it was super cool!
March 17
Tried to catch a leprechaun but he outsmarted the trap.
He did leave chocolate gold coins though!
Art by Cara
On the 100th day of school Gwen's class made portraits of what they thought they'd look like when they are 100 years old!
Spring Break started and we had lots of plans.
We took a trip to the bird sanctuary.
Lots of geese getting ready for spring.
A couple Northern Flickers were knocking on this tree.
Another day was Play Doh Day!
They play for hours with the stuff...once in a while. They make a glorious mess.
Another day was Craft Kit Day!
Cleared a few kits out of the cupboard.
Another day we went to the zoo!
Dinosaurs Alive! is back and they love seeing the dinos roar and move!
It'd been so warm there were even butterflies in the butterfly building.
Gwen rode the Kimodo Dragon.
So did Cara.
And they rode a small Rhino.
One last encounter with a prehistoric beast.
And a hug for the penguins.
Great day at the zoo!
Had a camp out with a movie and a roaring fire!
Easter was coming so they made some decorations.
Cara was inspired by the comic book character Flash for her bunny and chick.
We had a snow shower!
This might be the last time it really snowed this winter.
Painting Easter eggs.
We tried something new this year.
Shaving cream with food colouring swirled through it then you roll an egg in it.
Makes pretty swirled eggs!
All ready for Easter!
The girls had the last skating class - they did great!
Skating around at the end of class.
A snack for the rabbit that was sure to visit.
Easter morning - they had expectations of a grand egg hunt involving clues etc.
They were not dissapointed - the Easter Bunny had left riddles to find each egg and the girls worked together to find them and figure them out.
The bunny really went all out with the clues this year!
In the garage searching for a clue!
When they had all the clues they had to line them up to complete a puzzle on the back that would have the last clue.
It read "look in the bathroom"!
Downstairs bathroom was empty...
...their bathroom was empty.....
...the tub in mom and dad's room! must be!!!.....
...nope...just an egg there....
Under the sink! Bingo!!!!
They hit the jackpot of candy and toys!
Jamie and Leah brought Kaiya to Easter dinner...the Easter Bunny visited again and left eggs in the backyard to collect! Nana was there too to help.
They were so sugared up!
Fun straws came in the Easter baskets
Juice just tastes better this way.
To finish off Easter weekend and Spring Break we went to see Disney On Ice!
It was a great show!
They did some Tiana, Snow White...
Cinderella....
And Rapunzel.
Mickey and Minnie and pals were there as hosts.
The girls loved it!
Then it was back to school.
Our Spring has been very dry...so this was not a rainy day really but Cara and her friend Leah were ready just in case!
