2 Months Old and waiting for Santa!

Cara took in her first Christmas Eve church service - she spent most of it in the church basement with Adam though :) Once she got to sleep it was time to go home so she woke up and is now going back to sleep to dream of sugarplums!

8 weeks old and freezing!

Well, we didn't do much this week since it was soooo snowy and soooo cold! We got out tree up and Cara and I just stayed in the warm house :) Adam is on his Christmas break now so now the 3 of us will just stay in until 2009!!

Cara had her first trip to the mall today and she was good for the first couple of hours then she got a bit overstimulated and let us know :) once we got home she conked out for an hour or so and now is happy again. She is laughing so much now and making lots of "baby talk". So cute!

7 weeks old!!

Well, we have had a snowy week here in Calgary! We were in Banff last weekend for my work's Christmas party and drove home in a blizzard and now today we are having another blizzard! This is not our normal Calgary winter!! At least it will look Christmas-y though :)

Cara is smiling and laughing all of the time now and we're really noticing changes everyday. She is recognizing Adam when he comes home and smiles at him - it is sooo cute!

6 weeks old - checkup!

Cara had her 6 week checkup on Friday - she is still perfect :) She weighs 11 lbs 2 oz!!

She's growing and the Dr said she is strong and has good reflexes :) She's smiling a lot and laughing now too which is pretty fun. Sleeping is getting better - she's going 3.5 hours between feedings at night (sometimes more) so only getting me/us up 2 or 3 times a night (sometimes more ;). I'm feeling more rested for sure which is great.

Last weekend my mum had a baby shower for us too which was very nice. I got to show Cara off to mum's friends and they gave us some very nice gifts :)

Cara is growing and being more active everyday - here she is playing with her Dad on her mat :)

5 weeks old!

Little baby Cara Byrne is now 5 weeks old! She's outgrowing some of her little 1 month clothes and is in some of the 3 month size stuff (not all but some of the smaller 3 month stuff). She's awake alot more during the day and she's started to really smile at us (she loves smiling at Adam when he makes faces at her, it is very cute!)

We've tried giving her a bottle and she didn't mind it one bit! Adam was glad that he finally got a chance to feed her. And I'm happy because that means he can do one of the middle of the night feedings this weekend!!

Also this week we started using cloth diapers on Cara during the day (night time still gets the disposables). They are great so far and really easy to care for and they look cute on Cara too. We'll get some pics on the blog next weeks of those :)

Cara's baby shower at Olympia Trust

My office threw Cara a baby shower on Friday which was a lot of fun. We played some shower games - a special one just for the guys (see Adam with a pregnant belly below)! They were very generous and gave us some really nice gifts. Cara was really good and slept most of the time and woke up near the end to bat her eyelashes at everyone. Not surprisingly, everyone thought she was adorable :)
