NB 2010 - Part 2

The 2nd Chapter of our NB trip was a weekend spent in Fredericton/Harvey areas with Aunt Sarah, Uncle James, sweet baby Connor and Grampy! We started it off with a walk around Kings Landing.

Cara had lots of fun running around and looking at farm animals.

A good afternoon with Grampy.

She really liked splashing in the horse's trough.

And loved having an ice cream cone...she ate the cone (or cookie) before the ice cream but got a few good licks in.

The next day we had a great picnic at Wilmot Park with Sarah, Connor and Grampy.

Then Connor and Cara went for a swim.

They are both water babies!

They had a great time!

Then it was time to dry off and warm up.

On the drive back to Harvey both babes fell asleep so we went on a road trip to McAdam - here is Adam at the old train station...possibly haunted.

After supper it was time for some pictures!

And a kiss for Grampy!

Then Connor attacked Cara! Or perhaps he was trying to tickle her :)

Before we left the hotel in Mactaquac Cara burned off some energy at the hotel playground.

And we walked down to the St. John River for a closer look.

Then we went to the cottage at Grand Lake that Nana and Howie were staying at for a visit.

She raced cousin Isaac.

A four generation shot!

Played with Uncle Jamie.

Played with Leah too!

And picked some apples from the apple tree. It was a fun visit in the country!

On our last day in Saint John we took a trip in to King's Square. Cara liked the flowers and the pigeons.

After walking up King Street she needed a lift from her Daddy.

Then we had one more visit with the Andersons. Cara had a great time playing with her cousins!

One last picture with Nanny & Papa before heading to the airport.

We all had a great trip!

Baby Girl Byrne #2!

We had a great ultrasound that some of our blog followers got to see on the internet on Friday - it was pretty neat and we found out the great news that BB #2 is a GIRL! Cara is very excited to have a little sister. Here she is half covering her face. We get to go back for another ultrasound to try to get a clear picture of her face after we're back from NB.

We're almost all packed and ready to hop on the plane for our trip to NB! We figured checking Cara with the luggage will make the trip much more relaxing for us ;) She will have a flashlight so she can read! Hahah!

We had a visit from our friends Rebecca and Leah this week - Cara and Leah had a great time at our playground then did some posing on the steps.
It wasn't rainy - Cara just likes to wear her rubber boots!

We're off on vacation now so we'll update the blog with travel pics after we're back in Alberta!

On a hot hot day in July....

The many faces of Cara Byrne! I happened to catch this one and thought it showed her range of emotions well :)

We took her to the eye doctor this week for her first check up. She was very good and can see perfectly :) The doctor was impressed with her vocabulary!

We had a visit from Freya on Friday and Cara was crawling with her - Freya would "chase" Cara and they would both laugh and scream!

We celebrated Daddy's birthday with a Birthday cheesecake and 3 candles (one for each decade until he reaches 40!)

The heat has arrived and we went to a local wading pool for a swim. Cara loves the water even more now after her lessons a couple of weeks ago.

She was trying to splash the camera man here.

This is her swim suit action pose :)

Cara's 2010 Stampede Week

Stampede week this year was a bit of a cold mess - we had a severe storm come through on Monday that brought down some really big hail! I saved a variety of the sizes that flew down to show Adam and Cara. Very loud and woke Cara up :( But no damage :)

On Wednesday we went to the annual Stampede BBQ at Adam's work. Cara got dressed up for the occasion!

Cara had a good time at the BBQ. She liked the large army trucks but also really liked the pylons.

And she loved the bouncy house they had for the kids!

Cara and I took swimming lessons everyday this week (which was totally exhausting for me but also fun). Here she is on Friday getting ready to go to the final class.

Cara passed the course! She was so happy (see the tears in her eyes?!). Actually she wanted to play with the sticker she got and was not in the mood for a picture. She did really great in class - she is very brave in the water!

After morning swim class we all went to the Stampede grounds to take it in. Cara really liked these baby chicks that were only one day old!

She practiced riding a horse.

Checked out some goats.

Had some milk and cookies after seeing some cows.

And tried some deep-fried dill pickles! They were one of the culinary "highlights" at this year's Stampede but only one booth sold them and it took forever to find them...in the end not really worth the search. But they were the end to a fun day :)

BB #2's first OB appointment & Cara's first Stampede Breakfast!

We had a nice but hot week here in Calgary. Cara has been her usual smiley self :) ( Notice the wisps of hair in this picture - she is growing hair!)

She has taken to eating supper in her diaper and bib walking around the house since her highchair is too hot.

On Thursday I had my first appointment with the obstetrician (Dr. Li). Adam came with me and the Dr was very nice. I'll see him at all the appointments in his office and I'll have a 1 in 12 chance of having him at the delivery. Sort of like last time where a group of Drs share the on-call times. Everything was fine though and he gave us yet another "due date"....now we have Oct 31, Nov 1 or Nov 5. We'll see when Baby Byrne #2 decides to join us. The pic above is the bump at week 22 of 40 :)

The Calgary Stampede started on Friday and on Saturday we went to our community centre for a Stampede breakfast. We had pancakes, sausages and eggs - not bad but not the greatest...good for free though and it is a Stampede tradition! Cara noticed that they had the same bouncy horses as the Canada Day thing we went to so she had to jump on one!

She had a really good time bouncing.

This is a picture from a couple of weeks ago that Nana took. We had all gone for a walk for an ice cream and Cara got to have her own cone! She devoured it!
