On Sunday we went to the USS Midway Museum in San Diego.
(Charlotte had to stay home to do homework :( )
We got to go through the whole aircraft carrier and up on the deck.
Permission to come aboard!
The kids got locked in the brig.
Gwen steering the ship.
Cara showing the engineers how to control the ship.
In the nice dining room.
Looking at recipes for how to cook for 4000 sailors.
Top Gun.
Some scenes of the movie were filmed on the USS Midway!
Up on deck Gwen pretended to be an airplane.
Cara strapped in to a helicopter seat.
Snack time.
When you go on the boat they take a group picture then they put in the backgrounds.
Why are we hovering above the water?
We spent the morning exploring the big ship then walked down the boardwalk to Seaport Village for lunch.
Sailboats on a Sunday.
Fishing boats in San Diego.
After a yummy lunch (mmm tacos) the kids went for a ride on a very old carousel.
They met a robot man street performer.
There was this awesome balloon sculptor. He is making Ariel (the Little Mermaid) for Cara and made an Elmo for Gwen.
Giving Elmo kisses.
Ariel!
Sunset from the hill in Escondido.
After the boardwalk we went for a drive up the coast and through La Jolla and close to ocean. Then Gwen threw up her lunch. In her car seat. Ick. So we cleaned her up and headed for home. And hoped that she wasn't really sick and that no one else was going to get sick.
While Gwen rested at home Daddy and Cara went for a swim at the pool. Aunt Jill got this great picture!
We had a big plan for Monday and just prayed that Gwen wasn't really sick. By morning she hadn't been sick again so we thought that we'd just stick with our plan of taking a drive to Anaheim to "visit an old friend".

And you even mentioned the icky incident...poor Gwen...i think she was telling Romney what she thought of his house with the car elevator in La Jolla.
