Coyote and flu shots!

Cara, Gwen and I were home "alone" this week. Cara liked helping give Gwen a bath and Gwen obviously loves looking at Cara while having a bath! Sister love :)

On Tuesday we had a visit from a coyote! Since we are so metro it was a strange sight but has added to our list of wild animals we see in our parking lot!

Gwen - 15 days old. Sweet sleeping smiles (notice the dimples!)

Cara and I went for our flu shots this week. Cara was awesome so brave she didn't even cry! She watched the needle go in her arm, pouted her lip but no tears! The stickers afterward helped too. (I didn't cry either :)

Little Gwen sleeping in her bassinet. The nights are going alright. She usually gives us one good 3-4 hour stretch of sleep then is up and down the rest of the night.

Nanny's visit and freezing cold!

Gwen - 6 days old.
We went to the Dr for Gwen's 1 week check-up and Cara's 2 year check-up today. Gwen was up to 7lb15oz (75th percentile for height and weight) and Cara was up to 32lbs! Two growing girls!

Cara is still very smiley and being a big sister suits her great. She brings diapers at changing time and gives Gwen lots of toys.

Gwen enjoying some skin to skin time after her bath.

Cara is showing Gwen all the features of the playmat :)

Cara after lunch.

Gwen - 8 days old.

Such a good sleeper so far :) although she gets grunty at night.

Calgary got such a snowstorm this week (just in time for Nanny's visit!). It snowed for about 4 days straight and was extremely cold too...-20 day time highs :( Daddy, Nanny and Cara did venture outside for some snow time. Cara loved it and was nice and warm in her new snowsuit.

Cara liked crawling in the snow.

We got a lot of snow!

Happy snow girl!

Princess Gwen wearing her crown after another bath :) Jill, the towel is too cute!

Nanny helping Cara hold Gwen.

Cara helped me brush Smokey out this week - then Daddy and Nanny gave her a bath! She is now one clean cat!

Gwen and Daddy chillin' out.

Gwen 13 days old.

We had a great visit with Nanny and loved having her here. We miss her already!

Gwen Rebekah is born!

At 3:44am on November 9, 2010 Gwen Rebekah Byrne was born! After our ultrasound on Monday we were sent to the hospital for another test. We took Cara to our neighbour's house until we knew what was happening and then Nana went to get her. After the test at the hospital they wanted to induce labour and so that's what we did. Things started at 5:30pm on Nov 8 and we finally had our little girl the next morning! A Birthday present for Nanny Byrne!

Gwen weighed in at 7lb7oz and was 21 inches long! To us she seemed so tiny compared to Cara but the nurses were telling us that she was a good big baby.

She was nice and alert and we all had some good snuggles.

Daddy with his 2nd little girl :)

We got moved to our postpartum room (a private room!) and Gwen stayed nice and quiet.

Later on, Daddy brought Cara to the hospital to meet Gwen. She was very happy to be a big sister.

Gwen was pretty relaxed in hospital and let her Mummy get some rest.

She is very stylish and is wearing clothes now that are way to big but hardly fit Cara.

Love for Daddy.

All dressed up to go home!

Coming home!

Cara welcoming Gwen home.

Gwen is a great sleeper so far and lets us put her down :)

Cara sharing her toys with Gwen.

Gwen snoozin'

First bath.

Not so relaxed anymore!

All warmed up and back to calm Gwen.

Smokey is slowly realizing that there is a new person in the house.

Hockey Night in our house! Daddy and his girls watching the game.

Awake time!

5 days old. Cara asked to hold the baby today! She enjoyed holding her and did a few more times.

Sister love :) no kisses yet though!

A week of waiting for Baby Byrne #2...

Cara still isn't over Halloween yet. She loves wearing her Halloween pjs from Aunt Jill and when we're out walking she keeps an eye out for "Halloween" which means pumpkins that are still out on doorsteps. She also started requesting candy for breakfast!

Since Cara's been waiting for her sister's arrival all week we went for many walks to the playground - a few with our neighbour Cassidy. Cara was sufficiently preoccupied with this activity that she's coping well with the waiting for baby!

Cara and her crocodile crawling through a tower tunnel. We've been building many many towers with Cara and we're getting pretty good at it!

Another trip to the park!

Showing Daddy her sliding skills.

Cara enjoying a muffin in one of her Bear muffin cups from Grampy :) She even helped stir the muffin mixture!

Making Banana Bread with Mummy...we've been baking to help the waiting for baby time go by faster! Cara is a good helper!

Cara showed off a new skill today - she can do a thumbs up! And not just one but both at the same time! Such a fun milestone :)
