July 2015 - Part 1 Canada Day to Stampede!

Canada Day started out a bit cool and rainy.
We went to Airdrie to check out their parade.
 It was great!
Look a giant orange cow!
 They had bag pipes.
 and Shriner's in tiny airplanes!
 They even passed out candy!

By the evening it was nice so we had a fire and the girls lit sparklers!
 Almost as good as fireworks!
The next day was the CBC Stampede breakfast.
The girls always enjoy eating free breakfasts in a parking lot.
Patty from Kids CBC mornings was there doing story time and she brought Chirp with her!

 Daniel Tiger was there too!
The girls were so so happy to meet their favourite characters!

They also got to meet Ponchi - the PanAm Games mascot.
The next day we went to Calaway Park!

Lots of fun is had every time we go!
The next day we went on a trip to Drumheller to have our annual Dinosaur visit.
Yellow canola fields everywhere!
It was a Saturday and the museum was packed!
Thankfully we've been there 1000 times.

The playground outside was a big hit this year.

In the mouth of the Giant T Rex in downtown Drumheller!

 Dinosaur toe jam.
The girls were looking forward to wading in the fountain like they did last year when the McGinns were visiting.
Wading became swimming.  They were soaked!
We keep a change of clothes int eh car for them but should really keep a spare towel too!
After drying off under the hand dryer in the washroom they posed for one last shot before it started raining!
 Cosmo with his favourite human.
Tuesday of Stampede Week was the annual lunch at Daddy's work!
Eating in a parking lot is better with table and chairs...and lots of bacon!
Lots of fun things for the kids this year.

All these baby goats came and sat down with Cara so they could get a pet.

 There was Camo face painting!
Gwen requested "bunny" and this was the best the soldier could do!

The next day we went to Calaway Park again with our friend Freya and her mom.
The girls had so much fun!

They are all getting so big - the moms could stay on the side and watch!

Friday of Stampede Week we all went to the Stampede Grounds for some fun!
 We met Dora and Boots
Gwen wouldn't stop hugging them!

We saw the Super Dogs Show!

Cara had her corn dog fix.
 Gwen chose regular hot dog.

They had lots of fun on lots of rides!
It wasn't as crowded this year so there was never much of a wait for a ride.
We had a family ride on the Ferris Wheel.

 High over the grounds.

An up close look at some Army gear.
Aren't they the cutest gun totin' gals?!
We saw this guy play a very cool instrument.
We saw some cool tricks by these guys.
 Awesome basketball dunks!

 Time for more rides!

Gwen was tall enough for almost all of the rides - so the girls went on alone.

We caught the very end of this band's performance.
 Checked out a Navy boat.

 Sat in a jet!
 Daddy and his lambs!
Then it was time for some treats.
Rainbow Snow-cone!
This thing is a Crazy Cone!
Cone filled with ice cream!
The girls needed their own to share.
Then we tried Deep Fried Oreos.
 Delicious!
Better than "raw" oreos!
We had so much fun this year!

It was a busy start to July. We have lots more fun ahead too!
Next update at the end of July!
