June 2017

Our rhubarb exploded this year.  The kids like it dipped in sugar.

We planted a couple of trees in our backyard and the kids wanted to help dig.  Here they are standing where our new May Day tree will be.

Cara lost another tooth so we had spaghetti to celebrate the new gap tooth smile.

It was the annual Bike to School Day and the girls did great.  Dad explained to Gwen how to start by herself and she got it instantly!  Now if only she would brake when we say!

The parent council plants a Grade Three Legacy Tree every year for the departing students.  Cara is really going to miss her school but she's excited for Grade Four too.

Gwen had her turn with rollerblading class and blades like a champ.

We had some s'mores on a nice summer night.

On Father's Day we went for our first family bikeride with everyone on their own bike.  It was great!

We went to Nose Creek Parkway.  It's quite nice and there's spots where you can't tell you are in a city.

The kids wanted to check out some of the big rocks lying around.

We climbed some boulders.  Well, tried to at least.

The girls with the new tree.

Who's going to grow faster?

A Father's Day pic with Dad's fave kids.

They are getting pretty heavy, so holding them both takes a lot of energy!

Rollerblading dance party for Gwen on the last day!

We went to the school's pancake breakfast.

We got to dress up in our Stampede gear.  It was a bit early in the morning and long lines, but good pancakes.

Once we got the food, it was all smiles.

We got to checkout a fire truck!

Gwen needed a new dress for her piano recital, so she and Mom went to the mall.  She posed as a Mountie before picking out a new dress.

And then the big day came.  Gwen looked great!

She has been going through her piano books very quickly.

She was very excited to show off her skills.

Cara was very supportive of her sister.

Part of Your World from Little Mermaid.

Cinderella's Waltz.  She did awesome!

The Grade 3s had a special assembly to celebrate Canada and moving on to a new school.  It was great and only a little sad.

Cara with her favourite teacher Mrs. Turner.  Cara will miss her a lot.

Cara with her other favourite teacher, Miss Arsenault.  She was a student teacher in Cara's class for half the year, but came back to visit whenever she could.

Grade 3 will be known as the Year of Dabbing.

Last day of Grade 1 and Grade 3!

Both kids were sad the year was ending but excited for summer!

Cara was so sad at the end of the day that a Blizzard only made her feel a bit better.

Some friends from school joined us at DQ!

One of Gwen's favourite activities is doing Math workbooks.  She's very good at it and likes the challenge.

We went to Boston Pizza to celebrate Gwen's awesome piano recital and the last day of school.  A magician came by and gave Gwen a dead fish.

Cara the unimpressed beaver got a Creeper (she was just pretending to be serious, she had fun!)

Now the fun really starts.  Summer Vacation!
