Haircuts and Classes

 Gwen needed a haircut!
The bangs were getting too long.
After a trim she could see again.
She was pretty good at sitting still.
 All done!
She got down and said "Cara's turn! Cara's turn!"
 Crazy hair on Cara.
Cara's been growing her bangs out so she just had a trim.
 She sat very still.
 Almost finished.
 All done!
She is great at posing!  Future Sears model??
At the grocery store Cara chose a Dragon Fruit as her treat.
A weird fruit but the kids loved it.  Kind of like a kiwi but sweeter and with more seeds.

Friday we all went to Gwen's Gymnastics class at the U of C.
Daddy stayed with her for class and Cara and Mommy stayed at the door.  Gwen loves the class!  This week she did the balance beams, foam pit, trampoline and parallel bars!
Saturday Gwen and Mommy went to the rink with Cara and Daddy to watch Cara's skating class.
Daddy is the best parent on the ice.  He is the only one who wears a helmet.  Cara insists on safety!
Catching bubbles was Cara's favourite part.
Gwen watched from the side and hoped for a turn.
She was upset at the end when we had to leave instead.
Cara's other favourite part is getting a sticker on her helmet at the end of class.
Going for a walk in the neighbourhood on Saturday before supper.
One of the units in our condo had a smoke detector going off and no one was home.  Uncle Jamie called 911 and so he, Daddy and the girls had to stay for the Fire Department to arrive!  No fire - just a pot left on the stove and got smoky.  A very exciting walk!

Family Day

Gwen got a cold this week and was wheezing quite a bit.  So off we went to the doctor on Saturday.  The doc gave us some puffers to give her and we had to watch her breathing closely for a day (in case we needed to go to the hospital).  Gwen reacted well to the puffers so no need for a hospital trip!  She had puffers as an infant and we had an old mask/spacer so that one we gave to baby and Gwen liked giving baby meds.  Gwen did not like getting meds herself in a new mask/spacer!  Two person job to hold her down!  Poor thing :(
She is much better having had the puffers though and we are happy she is better :)
Family Day
Daddy still has to work on Family Day here.  Jamie had the day off school though so he came to hang out with us.  Gwen was happy to see him and cuddle too.

We had a nice Valentine's Day and Cara had fun passing out Love Bug cards at school.  We made a yummy cake to have and have all overloaded on chocolate!  Cara is now counting down the days to Easter!

Didn't get any pics of Cara this week so here is a video of her skating from last week.  They play music for the skaters and she skates very very slowly!  Enjoy!

We will start taking more pictures!

Skating at Bowness

We are having some milder temps and there are lots of birds around (no robins yet).  We filled up our feeder and also made some hanging feeders from Pinterest with seeds and gelatin (what you see in the molds).  They have been hanging in the tree now and not even a squirrel is interested in these things!  Fun to make and they look cute in the tree though!

Going for a walk on a mild but very windy afternoon!
Friday evening we went to our friend Cassidy's 4th birthday party.  The girls wore their Christmas outfits from Nanny & Papa and looked super cute!
 Sunday we went skating!
Gwen's first time on the bob skates - she was awesome!  She laughs when she falls and had a great time (until she got cold!)
Cara showed off her new skating skills that she's learned in her classes.
She is doing great!
She is used to skating in a hockey rink so she was a bit worried about skating outside.
Gwen got cold so we brought the stroller onto the ice and she was happy to have a snack while Cara slowly skated around.
At skating class Cara gets a sticker on her helmet for each week.  She loves the stickers!
Post skating - we all had fun and will do it again!  Now home for hot chocolate!

Groundhog Says Early Spring!

We were so happy to hear that Balzac Billy - our local "groundhog" (a guy in a suit!) - did not see his shadow on Saturday morning!  The early Spring is welcome to come anytime now!
We celebrated by going to the Bird Sanctuary to see it during the winter.
Chickadees were dive bombing us trying to get the girls' goldfish crackers!
Cara was hoping there would be more birds to see since in the spring and summer we usually see a good variety.
"Chickadee-dee-dee" translates to "I'm going to get your crackers, little girl!"
We were not attacked and got to see a few birds (ducks, geese, magpies, crows and the chickadees)
Gwen got to stomp in some freshly melted puddles.
This is Cara playing "Costco".
She set up a little table in the kitchen with cookie samples and made us come through for a taste.
We bought 4 cases!
Cara had a couple of milestones this week.  We registered her for kindergarten at the school - she got to see the classroom and is pretty excited about it.  Also, we moved her out of her car seat into a booster!  Now she says she feels like she is in California since that's what she rode around in in Aunt Jill's van!  Haha!
