January started mild enough for a winter bonfire!
Cara got a Rainbow Loom for Christmas and has been working hard on bracelets.

Gwen got a haircut!
She decided she wanted shorter hair to look more like Cara and had zero regrets with her choice.
First day back to school was cold and snowy but at least Gwen gets to ride on days like that!
New Year and time for dental cleaning!
Gwen did great and enjoyed the fluoride treatment.
We all went skating at Bowness Park on the lagoon.
It was a nice sunny wintery day.
The girls are so much better skating this year - the lessons work!
Cosmo is doing great.
He loves water and showers and tubs.
He has fallen in a few times and doesn't love that! He hopes right out but once he dries himself off he's back on the edge of the tub investigating again.

Another warming trend brought spring like temps so the girls got in some January sandbox time.

Cara's school set January as Literacy Month and one of the activities was to make a scene from your favourite book. Cara designed and made this scene from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

After school walk home was in shirt sleeves! (and toques!)
Gwen said she felt like a teenager.

We went to a Calgary Hitmen Hockey game.
Our team won 10-1!
