January and February 2018

January was very cold but Daddy still went running!

Over the Christmas break we borrowed the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy from our friends.  We watched them all before school went back...thanks to all that cold weather!

We had a nice visit with Nana over New Year's.  Always good for snuggles!

We went sliding once it warmed up a but...Daddy and the girls had a great time...Mom had a hard landing on her tailbone so she watched!

Sliding is a favourite thing.

Dad's good at bringing the sleds up the hill.

Cara had a Guide sleepover so Gwen was a solo kid with us at our friends' party...she was a ying without her yang...still managed to have a good time.

Cold January walks to school.

Gwen had a Brownie Winter Fun night.  Skating and sliding with hot chocolate.  Here she is with one of her Brownie friends.

We had a fun night at a Hitmen Hockey game...made extra fun since we WON the tickets!

Gwen was working on a Cooking badge for Brownies.  She had to plan and make supper.
Spaghetti and meatballs with salad and garlic bread and pudding for dessert!
She got the badge!

January was also eye doctor visits...Gwen had to go back for an extra exam.

Cosmo snuggles!

February

Cara has been doing climbing again.  This is her first "lead climb" She takes the rope up the wall with her instead of regular belaying.  Quite an accomplishment.

We have had so so so much snow this February.  Usually we get melts between snows but this year it's piling up like NB!

This snow fall alone was over 20 cm.  That is alot for us - where they don't plow all the streets!

Cosmo watching Gwen play piano.

Dreaming of being the next "piano cat".

We got a special visitor for a night one weekend.

Amelia!  Cousin sleepover!

While watching the Olympics opening ceremonies the girls drew all the flags as they came in.

Amelia is a super sleeper!  After a long night sleep she ate a full breakfast.

Gwen loves bringing out the baby toys and sharing them.

Cousin fun.

A fun PJ day.

Some fun in the snow.

Dad got to try out his snow shoes.

Uncle Jamie covered Gwen in snow!

Cara too!

Watching Olympics all the time the girls started loving Curling.  Mom just had to make a Curling Rock Hat!

So that 2nd visit to the eye doctor showed that Gwen needs glasses.  Just for reading and screens.

She picked out the pinkest pairs of glasses.

2nd pair...still pink!

Hurry HARD!!!

Family Day - traditional skate!

Then we went sliding!

It was a fun sunny day!

Beautiful Blue Sky!

Sometimes when sisters aren't getting along....you have to make a sister burrito.

Gwen's class at school did an assembly for Pink Shirt Day.

Gwen was one of 4 MCs.

She did a great job speaking to the whole school!

Cara's whole school got to go to a special Hitmen Hockey Game.  They all got Pink Shirts and had a fun day.  Everyone wore their pink shirts for the rest of the week.

Gwen on Pink Shirt Day!
