Sickies

So there was a picture from last week!
Jamie came by for a visit and took the kids shopping for their birthdays!
What a great uncle :)
We installed a new toilet this week!
Who needs to walk upstairs anymore? Not us!
Seriously though, the girls got colds this week.  Then they both got so bad we had two trips to the doctor (one each) and they both got put on antibiotics for sinus infections and eye infection (for Gwen).
Look how sad and sick Gwen is.
By the end of the weekend Daddy had it too.
Or are they faking?!?
More like two sick girls stuck inside all weekend made them go stir crazy!
We are looking forward to everyone getting healthy and fun December stuff starting!

A Week In November

This week was cold and snowy and wintery.
We didn't take any pictures!
We did our normal things and had a good time but memories are all we have now.

Here are some blasts from the past of our sweeties - such babies!

A Visit From Nanny & Papa And Gwen Turns 3!

We had more snow just after Halloween.  The kids had a lot of fun building out first snowman of the season!
And Cara can pull Gwen on the sled now so Daddy got a break!
Just as the snow was stopping Nanny & Papa arrived in Calgary.
Gwen fed Papa a snack while Cara was at kindergarten!
Nanny brought a hidden picture book for Cara and everyone loved it.
Some pictures were hard to find so Papa had to help too!
Tuesday was a bit warmer so we stuck with our plan of going to the zoo.
Most of the zoo is still closed but Cara's favourite part (the Dinosaur Park) is open.
Cara had fun pretending to be each species - here she is the T Rex behind her.
The Penguin exhibit was practically empty and we walked in as the keeper was feeding the penguins!
Very active and noisy penguins that day.
 Penguin.
The other section open is the Canadian Wild animals.
We got a close look at a couple of Grey Owls.
 Hoot.
 And a Snow Owl
The reindeer were happy with the snow.
Family shot with the penguin statue!
A fun walk around the zoo and we had a fun visit with Nanny & Papa too.
Miss you guys!
 Saturday was Gwen's Birthday!
She started off with a candle in her toast!
She was a very happy Birthday Girl.
Cara was a good big sister and helped Gwen with the present opening.
Gwen had so much fun and she loves all her new toys!
After Gwen's choice supper (pizza) it was cake time!
She got a candle out on her own!
Pretty sure she spit it out with a raspberry!
Now our little baby is 3!  Growing up so fast!

Happy Halloween!

Last week we had lots to get ready for Halloween.
We did a practice run on makeup for the big night - this is Gwen's makeup for Rapunzel.

Cara's dress rehearsal for the Tin Man!
Later that day Gwen was playing in the dress up clothes then went to the marker box to add whiskers to her costume of Katerina Kitty Cat!
Pretty good considering she didn't use a mirror!
The evening before Halloween was pumpkin carving night!
Gwen loved pulling out the pumpkin brains.
 Cara didn't love the mess.
 She just wanted to carve!
Our 3 pumpkins - Iron Man, Totoro and Gwen's choice the Classic.

Excitement was building!
Halloween was a fun day at Kindergarten.  The Tin Man costume was too involved/fragile/not finished yet for Cara to wear to school so she chose this flying unicorn costume from our collection.
They got to do a parade around the school and played fun Halloween games.
For lunch we made hot dog spiders on french fry webs!
The girls made a "5 little pumpkins sitting on a gate" craft.
Then supper was Spaghetti Monster with Eyeballs!
Cara saw this somewhere weeks ago so she was super excited to eat eye balls on Halloween!
Then it was time to start getting ready for trick or treating!
Everything came together and both girls looked great!
The Tin Man with a heart!
 Rapunzel!
She even kept her wig on the whole time!
 Cara got into character quickly.

They had lots of fun getting lots of treats!
The beginning of the candy craze.
And another pic of Gwen because she is cute.
Sippy cups are outta here!

Halloween was so much fun and the girls had a great day.
Next post will have our visit with Nanny & Papa!
