Sick August weekends :(

After having 2 great fun-filled weekends Cara had a fever last weekend and spent Sunday like this.

With some of this. She was better by Tuesday though.

And she got to enjoy some snuggles with Daddy!

Saturday we took advantage of a free Thomas the Train offer at Toys R Us (we got the last train in the bin - woohoo!) Cara picked up a love of Thomas from Cousin Isaac while in NB and thanks to Treehouse playing the show everyday while Mummy makes lunch...She is very happy to have her own "Tommy choo-choo train" :) Sunday Cara woke up complaining of a hurting belly and was sick all day - it was a cold rainy day here too so not fun all around. We are hoping that these 2 weekends of sickness are the end of it for a long long time!

Great August weekends

We had a BBQ with our baby group last weekend and it was great to see all the toddlers again - and one brand new baby was there too. This is some of the group of kids when we attempted a group shot - don't they all look so happy to posing?!

Cara had fun playing at the playground and trying to pick up all the rocks!

Later that afternoon we took a trip to Calaway Park amusement park.

Nana met us there.

And Howie too.

Cara went on lots of rides and had a good time. Her Daddy also won her a couple of awesome toys at the games.

She really liked the carousel this time.

She would pet the horse and say "good horsey, good horsey" - too cute!

This weekend we went to the Family Picnic at Daddy's office. They had lots of fun things to do - Cara tried out different bouncy things.

She wasn't sure about this one.

Then she found this one. It was a long tube to crawl/walk through then there was a ladder to climb then a slide. We thought she'd decide against it in the middle and we'd have to rescue her but we were wrong. She loved it and went through at least a couple of dozen times!

Here she is inside the tube part...there were 3 tiny windows we could watch through.

This was yet another bouncy house. She liked the bouncy but couldn't get the climbing part on this one. She still had fun jumping around!

Then we checked out the petting farm. Cara really liked the chicks and the pigs.

She "baaa'd" at some sheep.

And petted a goat.

She was fascinated with the chicks.

Then Daddy gave us a tour of his office, we saw his desk and then we got to see some army vehicles.

Cara was trying to imagine Uncle Brent in one of these over in Afghanistan.

Cara had a great time at the Family Picnic!

Baby Girl Byrne #2 3D Ultrasound

We had a couple of 3D ultrasounds of Baby Girl Byrne #2 done over the last couple of weeks and many of you got to see one of them live online which was great. We got a bunch of pictures of our newest girl or at least what she would show us (she seems to be camera shy in there!). Most of the pictures in this musical video collage are of part of her face sometimes with an arm, leg, hand or foot in the way! Hope you enjoy! xoxo

NB 2010 - Part 1

Waiting in the Calgary Airport for our flight east. Cara was very excited to see all the airplanes and trucks up close.

She was so happy to be on an airplane and go high in the sky!

We arrived safe and sound with some delays but not too bad. Day one we headed over to Aunt Deborah's for lunch and some fun with the sprinkler! Cara loved it!

She enjoyed playing with her cousins' outdoor toys.

And totally got the "run through the sprinkler" idea!

She even liked getting splashed in the face!

Then Aunt Deborah cuddled her dry.

And gave her a Popsicle. Cara's favourite icy treat :)

The next day Cara and I went to my school friend's place for a playdate with her kids and another friend's kids. Cara loves playing with other kid's toys :)

My friend Hope (in the pink ears) and most of the kids!

Then Aunt Kelly, Uncle Mark, Cousin Caleb and Cousin Lucas arrived at Nanny & Papa's! Cara got to learn all about Nintendo DS from Caleb :)

And Aunt Kelly taught her how to blow bubbles.

Cara got really good at it - even blew some bubbles without the wand!

She liked sitting with Caleb.

And running around with Lucas.

Cara got to be very good at eating out this trip.

The annual lunch out at Market Square!

This year it was in the thick fog that can only be found in Saint John :)

The annual family photo shoot.

Cara got to try fiddleheads this trip. She liked them!

Cara with Aunt Kelly, Lucas and Caleb (hiding in the back). What a great visit!

Stay tuned for part 2 of our NB trip!

NB 2010 - Part 2

The 2nd Chapter of our NB trip was a weekend spent in Fredericton/Harvey areas with Aunt Sarah, Uncle James, sweet baby Connor and Grampy! We started it off with a walk around Kings Landing.

Cara had lots of fun running around and looking at farm animals.

A good afternoon with Grampy.

She really liked splashing in the horse's trough.

And loved having an ice cream cone...she ate the cone (or cookie) before the ice cream but got a few good licks in.

The next day we had a great picnic at Wilmot Park with Sarah, Connor and Grampy.

Then Connor and Cara went for a swim.

They are both water babies!

They had a great time!

Then it was time to dry off and warm up.

On the drive back to Harvey both babes fell asleep so we went on a road trip to McAdam - here is Adam at the old train station...possibly haunted.

After supper it was time for some pictures!

And a kiss for Grampy!

Then Connor attacked Cara! Or perhaps he was trying to tickle her :)

Before we left the hotel in Mactaquac Cara burned off some energy at the hotel playground.

And we walked down to the St. John River for a closer look.

Then we went to the cottage at Grand Lake that Nana and Howie were staying at for a visit.

She raced cousin Isaac.

A four generation shot!

Played with Uncle Jamie.

Played with Leah too!

And picked some apples from the apple tree. It was a fun visit in the country!

On our last day in Saint John we took a trip in to King's Square. Cara liked the flowers and the pigeons.

After walking up King Street she needed a lift from her Daddy.

Then we had one more visit with the Andersons. Cara had a great time playing with her cousins!

One last picture with Nanny & Papa before heading to the airport.

We all had a great trip!
