September - A Retrospective.

Still trying to get caught up to real-time with the blog.  So this one we're going right through to the end of September - lots of pics to share!
Above - Cara on the swing at Heritage Park.
 Gwen at Heritage Park.
We went for one of our last fun summer things before school started.

 Old fashioned rides seem....dangerous.
The girls got to try branding!
 And roping.
 And barrel racing!
 They really liked the soddy.
 Cara practiced going to school.
And they got to help make ice cream then got to taste it!
Rock candy in hand, Cara waited for the train to take us back to the future.
We also squeezed in a trip to the zoo!
The bears were hungry.
Then it was the first day of grade 1 for Cara!
She was ready and excited to start at her new school.
Cara with her BFF Leah - now at the same school!

The next day after school Gwen was going up the stairs in the garage but turned around then tumbled down the steps to the garage floor...red bump on her forehead :(  Then she was acting weird so we took her to the emergency room.  Concussion but after a good night's sleep she was good as new!  One tough cookie!
Gwen at "practice day" at preschool with her BFF Sidney (Leah's sister).
Gwen has much love for Sidney!

Weird, September, walking to school, SNOWING!?!?
Gwen was NOT ready for this!
 Snowed all day!
Walked home from school Still Snowing!!!!
So the girls made a snowman!
 And had hot chocolate!
 The next day still snowy!
It was Gwen's first day of Preschool!
It had snowed all night and many trees in Calgary were snapping under the weight of the snow.  Power was out in parts of the city.
The drive to preschool took....1.5 hours! usual time is 20 min or so.
And when we finally got to school they didn't have power and school was cancelled.  We did get to take a break from driving then back home.
Gwen started Ballet classes this fall.
After the snow melted we got ready for real winter.  Ordered some wood and got it stacked up.
The kids are starting to pull their own weight!

Gwen had a little haircut too and posed out in the summer like sun!
On the weekend we took our annual trip to the Calgary Corn Maze!
 Big chair, little Gwen.

The girls are just waiting to get a kitten and there was a very friendly one in the petting zoo.
 They loved loving a kitty.
They have a future in hen judging.
 How Tall This Fall?!
Time to get lost in the maze.
 Then a wagon ride.
The girls made a Fairy Garden at home.
Cara's school had a BBQ after their Terry Fox Run.

We got to go have a tour of the City of Calgary Sign Shop.
They make all of the street signs at this shop and Gwen has loved street signs for a long time.
She loved this place!

They saved a few of the most clever graffiti they've seen.
Gwen being the pedestrian on the Crosswalk sign.

We ended September with some new Cat hats.

So there we are caught up through September!
I hope to get October done before it is over!
