Wiggles and Birthday Parties!

Cara has been fighting an ear and throat infection this last week but is getting on the mend now. We had step one of our new fireplace installed - they finish it this week including the mantel. We are excited to have it done!

Winter arrived this week too...we had a morning snow shower. Isn't it just awful looking? Good thing Cara is cute :)

On Friday we took Cara to see The Wiggles! It was an exciting evening!

Cara got her own seat. She was very proud. She was wearing the colour of her favourite Wiggle...

Jeff!

She watched the show very attentively. She clapped and danced and jumped all through the show.

Cara watching the show.

Fun Wiggly times!

The great Wiggles taking a bow.

After the show - Cara was wound up and took awhile to calm down for bed!

On Sunday we had our Baby Group`s 2nd Birthday Party! This pic has all 9 babies in it (at least a little bit). It is hard to wrangle 9 2 year olds!

Cara and her little buds.

Cara had fun at the playroom. She really liked the train table.

Sunday afternoon we had a Birthday Party for Cara. Her little friends Leah, Freya and Cassidy all came as well as their parents and Nana, Howie and her Aunt Andrea (my cousin). It was a nice afternoon and Cara had a great time!

Cara blowing out her candles!

Now she is choosing her cupcake. She licked her finger then stuck it in a cupcake....that one was hers!

YUMMY!

Then it was present time! Mummy and Daddy got her a doll house for her Little People.
She got all sorts of great gifts and loved showing them to everyone!

And playing with them!

Thanks to everyone for the great gifts!

New Floors & Happy Thanksgiving!

We had new floors laid down in the kitchen, foyer and bathroom this week. Cara had fun in the island after I cleared it out.

Here is the new floor before the island got moved back. Cara was having fun playing in the wide open space!

On Thanksgiving Sunday we went and had a very nice dinner with Nana and Howie. Afterward I took Cara to the playground and Cara had a pretty fierce tumble and landed on her cheek! She has quite the shiner now but it fine. I'm sure I was the fastest moving 9 month pregnant woman ever when I saw her fall! Thankfully she is fine and there was no blood. But there will be a bruise in her 2nd Birthday Party pics and maybe some judgmental looks from strangers...

This is Thanksgiving Monday or "the morning after the fall".

Cara went out for a walk before her second turkey dinner. She loves smiling for the camera now!

On the way back she was tired so she had a nap on the sidewalk!

TURKEY LEG!

Post Apple Pie smile :)

Mummy at 37 weeks pregnant and Cara enjoying a baby belly!

She thought it was hilarious!

Goodbye September!

We went to the zoo this week with Cara's friend Leah and her mom Rebecca. Cara and Leah had a great time naming animals and running around on a very nice sunny day.

Cara was wondering "how many peppers must a pickled pepper picker pick if a pickled pepper picker could pick peppers?".

Our little Cara is certainly growing, we realized, she rides this car looking like a giant and when she gets tired of riding she picks it up and carries it around! Maybe time to put it away ;)

She is totally used to her booster seat now and Smokey keeps watch for any dropped morsels (see Smokey on the left).

We are finished Baby Byrne #2's room for the most part. We are really happy how it turned out and Cara likes it too (she calls it baby room) and likes to watch the mobile go around. We'll rearrange it in a few months when we take the double bed out.

I had a routine Dr appointment this week and all is still well. BB #2 is head down and growing on track. My blood pressure was fine and her heart rate was 138. All good!

Cara was playing dress up tonight and did some modeling for us...this is the happy look.

And this is her serious look...or wishful look (notice the crossed fingers)!

Fall Leaves

Cara has been fighting a cold this week (and not sleeping great in her big girl bed as a result) but she did get outside to play in the fall leaves. She likes to try to put them back on the tree!

She tried to throw them back up to the branches.

She went on a walk with her Daddy and posed for some cute pictures.

In a field that is not far from our house, the highway and downtown. She looks like she is in the prairies.

She had a terrible night Saturday night but we still took her to Callaway Park for some fun on Sunday. She tried a new ride called Baja Buggies and was so excited to be on it....

...until is got going. It was pretty bouncy and she was not impressed! No crying but lots of yelling and Daddy couldn't get her to let go of the steering wheel...a white knuckle ride for an almost 2 year old!
Our pretty girl smiling for the camera :)

Cara, Mummy and Baby Bump at 35 weeks.
We had an ultrasound this week and Baby Byrne #2 is all good. Head down and growth was right on. I have a Dr appointment this week for a normal check up.

Growing Cara and Baby Byrne #2 update

Cara is showing off her new lumberjack look. It's been so cold here that we're all bundled up now. Hopefully the snow can stay away for September!

Cara is growing like a weed. She prefers to be served over the counter like at a bar...and she can reach up on the counters no problem now.

She is our happy girl! Sleeping in her big bed at night with almost no problems (although she gets herself up in the morning now and comes and gets us out of bed...zzzz) and naps are happening occasionally.

Can you find the Cara hiding in the barn?

I had another routine Dr's appointment this week for Baby Byrne #2. All is well and I'm sure that my standard pregnancy is boring the OB but I'm ok with that! He is sure that the baby is head down now but we'll have the ultrasound later this week just for fun now. Maybe more pics of #2 on next week's update :)

Cara's Toddler Bed

We had a good week this week. On Wednesday we babysat our neighbour Cassidy for her Mom. Cara loved having a friend around all day and it was good practice for having to take care of two kids!

Here are the girls singing :)

Cara got all settled in her big girl toddler bed this week. Naps are still iffy but night time is pretty good. Cara likes to act silly before bed time.

Showing off her Pooh Bear bed before story time. She has rolled out a couple of times but hasn't complained...I found her asleep on the floor twice.

We've moved the crib out of her room and into the baby's room. The new nursery is starting to take shape!

Ahhh September!

Well, September is here and our weather is matching the month a bit better. We took a trip to the zoo with Verity and Freya and had a nice walk around.

This is Cara's favourite zoo animal for this trip...she got very excited when we got to this statue :)

We painted Baby Byrne #2's room this weekend. It was brown already and we painted the green all around the top half. We're doing a "woodland" theme so we added silhouettes of leaves for a feeling of being in a tree. It turned out really well! We'll post more pictures as we add everything else into the room.

I had a Dr appointment this week and everything was fine. Textbook pregnancy just like Cara's. I mentioned that when we were at the private ultrasound clinic that the baby was breech so to be safe the Dr booked us in for an ultrasound at the end of September. So, we'll get another glimpse at our new little girl soon!

It is cold cold cold here. This morning it was only 3 degrees! Hoodies required!

Cara is out of the highchair and into a booster seat as of yesterday! And tonight is her last night in her crib (Lord, help us have an easy transition into the toddler bed!!). She is growing up so fast!
