Happy Father's Day!

 We had a fun week!
Since preschool is almost over it was time for a Mommy Volunteer Day!

Cara was so happy to have her Mommy there and the kids were fun!
Saturday was a busy and fun day.  Started with Cara's final skating class of the season.
She has now mastered getting up all by herself - we are so proud!
We also had a visitor with us - Mommy's cousin Andrea was in town and spent the day with us!
Gwen was so happy to have Aunt Andrea here (last time she was in town Gwen was still in utero!)
Cara played some hockey during her class.
 And got a certificate!
After lunch we took Andrea to the zoo.
Here Daddy is looking at the clouds thinking "looks like rain."
Then it rained! We were prepared and made a quick loop through the dinosaur park that Cara always has to see.
Gwen got a kiss from a hippo!
Jamie came to the zoo with us too!

There were a lot of butterflies in the Butterfly House!
 So many animals!
 Aunty Andrea with the girls!
Watching the monkeys made Cara act like a monkey at the playground!
The girls said goodnight to Andrea and then she flew back to Newfoundland.  We really hope we see her again soon!
Sunday we let Daddy sleep in and then took him breakfast in bed!
Tea, cereal, juice and some fruit.  Also presents!  A custom made shirt from the girls and a croquet set!  Cara saw it in a store and remembered playing it last summer at the cottage - she knew she had to get it for Daddy.
It was a nice day so we all played some croquet right away!
Then we went on a drive to find a new playground.
This one is really cool - a pirate ship structure and a castle structure too.
 Daddy liked the zip line!
Cara was a bit timid of the bridge at first...Gwen didn't understand her problem!  Gwen is so brave!
 Rapunzel!
Gwen on the zip line!
It was a great trip to the playground.
We are so lucky to have a great Daddy - he is so much fun!

Preschool Field Trip!

Wednesday Cara's preschool had a field trip to Butterfield Acres.
She was so excited to go to a farm and see her friends at the same time!  Here she is with Leah and Gracie.
Gwen and I were lucky that we got to go too :)
Gwen remembered the cowboy hats on our way out of the house - you just can't go to a farm without a cowboy hat!
We saw very nice farm animals like this friendly donkey.
 And this tiny baby chicken!
About 1/3 the size of a grown chicken and adorable!
The girls met some miniature horses.
 Cara and Leah!
 Gwen and Sidney!
 Gwen loves animals so much!
She is not at all afraid and the animals at this farm are so friendly and used to little kids.
She was looking for a rabbit and didn't notice the one hiding under the hay!
We went on a fun wagon ride!
 Wagon ride!
 A rooster.
This is Cara milking a goat!
 And Gwen milking a goat!
She missed the bucket and got my shoe but still very cool and a very relaxed goat!
Gwen playing a bit on the cars before it was time to go.
We had a great time at the farm and will go back again this summer with Daddy!

Rain Rain Go Away!

We have had rain for weeks now - it seems like longer.  Heavy rain and no fun.
We made some fun with some worm rescue missions (where we search the puddles for worms and save them from drowning).
Daddy got some great puddle jumping pictures during this mission.
Gwen started jumping with both feet this week!
 Cara hovers.
Friday we had our final gymnastics class.  We'll probably do it again in the fall.  Both girls really enjoy gymnastics!
Gwen concentrating on the beam.
 Cara practicing a handstand.
 Cara on the parallel bars.
 Gwen on the parallel bars.
Cara gets a goodbye-five from her Coach Carol.
 The girls with their ribbons!
Saturday we had sunshine for a change so we broke in our 2013 Calaway Park Season Passes!
Gwen can go on more rides this year - she really liked the swings!
 Cara enjoyed them too!
 Sister truckers.
 The carousel is a must-do.
 Tot Yachts.
Waiting to get off after the ride stopped.
The girls playing with their prizes after playing some games.

Other fun news this week was our new laptop!  Friday we came home and the laptop wouldn't wake up...it was fried.  So now we have a nice new one and things are all back where they should be.  Thankfully we do back up all our pictures to our external hard drive and the old laptop's hard drive was still intact so we could get everything not backed up off of it.  Readers should take this as a reminder to:
