May Catch Up

On Mother's Day the girls brought breakfast in bed and nice presents - Cara made a great painting at school with her feet:

May Long Weekend meant one great thing to the girls: Calaway Park is open again!
We went on opening day and had a great time!
Gwen is big enough to drive a bumper car this year!
Kicked off summer with a Tot Yacht ride!
We took their bikes to a park of Fish Creek Park for a bike around.  It was a beautiful weekend.
 Biker Gwen.
Right after the long weekend was over we got a firm sale on our house!  A few minutes after getting the call that conditions were lifted this rainbow showed up - now we are searching for a new home!  It is somewhere over that rainbow ;)
This past weekend was the International Calgary Children's Festival.
We went for the first time to it and saw lots of neat things like a fire hydrant drinking fountain!
The highlight was going to a Sharon & Bram concert! And meeting them after the show!  The girls got their tickets signed and we got to take this picture.  A fun sing-a-long concert!
After the show the girls joined lots of other kids in the big wading pool at Olympic Plaza.  Neither fell and got soaked but there was some splashing :)
The beautiful May Day tree bloomed and the girls posed for some portraits.
They make great faces!

Calgary Expo 2014

April 26 we attended the 2014 Calgary Expo!
The girls wore their custom made tshirts and showed the love of Frozen with Elsa crochet hats (made by me!)
Chewbacca approves :)
Had a meeting with an old friend.
Daddy got his girls their favourite lemonade.
 Chased down R2D2.
 Hello Samurai Kitty.
Totally weird but cool outfit.
Optimus Prime taking good care of the little people.
Cara was so excited to see face painting was there.  She has wanted to get face painting everywhere we go but it is usually too long a line or too late in the day - well today was her day!  She requested an orange and blue tiger and it turned out awesome.
She's got the eye of the tiger.
Gwen requested "rainbows and Rainbow Dash".  She loved the sparkles and blue lipstick.
The big thing this year was the cast of Alien was reunited so these aliens were hanging around.
Cara spotted a Captain America and had to say hello.
Belle, Elsa, Anna and Ariel were talking princess stuff.
We even found Alice who was visiting from Wonderland.
Doctor Who was a big part of the Expo this year too.
Cara posed with this dalek we found.
One of the girls' favourite Marvel characters - Miss Marvel!
We met Anthony Daniels at the show (he plays C3PO).  He was very nice and let us go to the front of the line since we had little ones.  He answered Cara's questions and Cara was so happy!
Stitch was wandering around so we got a pic.
And Iron Man and a girl too.
This was possibly the real Spiderman.  His costume was really great.
The girls' other favourite Marvel character - Scarlett Witch!
It was a snowy cold and miserable day.  We looked at the cool inflatables as we were headed home.
Nemo was not loving the snow.
Kermit was over the winter weather.
One last pic with Harley Quinn and we were back on the train home.
The girls did great this year - our first year stroller-free!
They got prints to go in their rooms and stuffies of their favourite things (My Little Pony and Pokemon)
A great Expo!

It Ends With A Happy Easter!

The elephants have left our zoo.
The 3 ladies went to live with a larger herd and I'm sure they are happier.
We went to say goodbye to them and one even waved back to us!
 The girls with the elephants.
Then we went to see the hippos and this one tried to fling its poop at us!  It was disgusting and thankfully we jumped out of the way!
A couple weeks ago we went to Aggie Days!
Gwen tried milking a cow :)
 We watched some herding.
Gwen loved this pile of poop!  One of her favourite words!
 Cara tried milking a cow!
A giant turkey!!!!
 Princess/cowgirl/fireman Cara
 Princess Fireman Gwen
 Cara and the horse skeleton!
We took the annual photo by the big tire.
The girls played in the sand.
 And petted a chick.
The next day we went to Supertrain!
It was a huge display of model trains.
So I took some neat pics of all the miniatures.

A nice scene - can you spot the deer?
That scene is in this old jug!
That's what you can do with an old jug!

Turns out model trains draw a big crowd and there was a lot to see!
The week before Easter Gwen was sick but she got better and so on Good Friday we went to Lethbridge to visit with Nana & Grandpa Howie!
There was a park nearby so the girls had to try it out.
 Gwen on the see-saw.

 Gardener Gwen in her galoshes!
Cara planted some tree seeds in Nana's garden.
After an eventful night that included a 3am bath for a sick Gwen - the sun came out and after a nice ham lunch the Easter Bunny had visited and the girls went on an egg hunt in the yard!
 Counting of the eggs.

 Cara found a big egg!
 So much fun!
Easter morning the girls ate one of their decorated eggs.
Eggs!
The Easter Bunny led the girls on an egg hunt through the house clue by clue.
They went upstairs, downstairs, up and down again and again - even outside!
He hid their baskets in the dishwasher!!!
He even put the clean dishes away for us!
Umbrellas, butterfly nets and chocolate!  CHOCOLATE!
Gwen gets crazy eyes from chocolate!!

Happy Easter Everyone!
