A Horse Is A Horse...

Gwen is 7 months old now. It has gone by so quickly! She is really rolling all over the place and playing with her toys. Cara is really good at making her laugh during supper and Gwen likes to eat a great variety of things now.

She is a very good and happy baby :)

We had some nice sunny days for a change and after being stuck in the house due to rain and having the roof redone while we were inside we needed some outside time. We took a trip to the park and Gwen watched all the kids playing from her stroller.

On Friday Leah and her Mommy came over for a visit and we went to the park again. The girls had a great time.

Daddy having some Gwen time watching the Stanley Cup Finals.

Gwen's newest trick! She found her knees and is getting ready to crawl! She wants to get moving in a bad way and she is getting stronger all the time.

Nana with the girls.
Nana and Howie had an afternoon out with Cara on Saturday. They took her to see Cavalia (a horse circus type show - like Cirque Du Soleil). Everyone had a great time!

On Sunday we continued the horse themed weekend and went to Spruce Meadows to see some horse jumping. The Nexen Derby was on to end the National tournament. We drove there in some heavy rain and some lightening but it was clearing by the time we arrived.

We saw some marching bands.

And learned all about horses.

Cara measured in Hands.

We had a great spot on the grassy hill to watch the jumping. Cara really enjoyed the flags and picking the grass.

Snacking away.
When the horses would jump the gate closest to us she'd stand up and clap and say "Yay Horsey!".

Gwen did very well in the carrier - skipped a nap but loved the people watching.

A shot of one of the horses. It was much more interesting to watch this sport in person...although if you were watching it live on Bold then you might have seen us.

Gwen makes some pretty funny faces these days.
This is her "Oh, no, that horse got a fault" look.

This is her "I am happy to be in the stroller when it isn't raining" look.

We had a long long wait in the car getting out of the parking lot of Spruce Meadows...it was almost an hour until we were really on our way home. We passed the time with Cara's magnifying glass and a good dose of Raffi.

  1. Hilarious faces, Gwen! She's a comedian just waiting to tell us the punch line, I'm sure.
Cara is quite tall in hands. Very cool.

  2. I remember driving past the horse jumping arena on my last visit West. The girls looked like they really enjoyed it! The photos are now down-loaded... thanks! -- Grampy
