A Day in Drumheller

Friday was a day off for Daddy and so we headed East to Drumheller for a day of Dinosaur exploration.
We got up early and got to the Royal Tyrell Museum just after it opened at 10.
The girls really liked the baby dinos outside (Gwen kept saying "sooo cuuute!")
Inside the statues were a little less than cute!
They compared their hand prints to dino footprint fossils.
Cara was a bit cautious of the dark and the thing looming behind her....
 ...just this T Rex skeleton!
The girls at the bubble wall.
A Stegosaurus display gave them a chance to sit and have a snack.
Just watching the skeletons and having some crackers.
Checking out some more fossils with Daddy.
This display had buttons.  Kids love buttons!
Gwen didn't even care what the buttons did she just wanted to press all the buttons!
 Daddy and some giggly girls.
A family picture captured in a wall of mirrors.
 Cara and a T Rex!
 Daddy with horns!
After the museum we went to the World's Largest Dinosaur!
We had a picnic then climbed all the stairs up to the top of the Dino for the view out his mouth!
Gwen walked up and down every step!
 Cara being dino toe jam!
The big dinosaur waved good bye to us as we drove to the nearest 7-11 for slurpees then back home to Calgary!
A great day and a great start to the picnic season!

  1. The Royal Tyrell Museum at Drumheller is a wonderful treat! Dinosaur toenails are as big as my granddaughters! But they obviously aren't scarey! Thanks for the photos! -- Grampy

  2. I hate dinosaurs, but you make it look like it could be fun. There's no way I'd be climbing to peek out the T-Rex, but hey - fill yer boots ;)
