California Adventures - Day 4 @ Disneyland

Our final day at the Disneyland Parks started in California Adventure Park at about 8:15am.
Once we entered Daddy went to get some Fastpasses for Radiator Springs Racers and Mommy and the girls spotted Oswald The Lucky Rabbit (a precursor to Mickey Mouse) so we went and met him.
He is like Mickey's older brother who is a rabbit.
 The girls liked him.
He is a neat part of Disney history.

We were ready to check the last must-ride rides off our list.

Nothing like being terrified at 8:30am
The girls weren't afraid at all.
Creepy surroundings inside as we waited for our elevator to the Twilight Zone!
The photo was taken before the drops happened..
 ..that's why we look happy!
It was an intense ride!  No need for coffee after that ride.

In Hollywood Land we spotted the Incredibles.
 Fist bump for Mr Incredible.
 A hug for Frozone.
A nice bunch of super heros!

Then we went on the Monsters Inc ride.
It was a nice ride through the movie's story.
This monster at the end called Gwen out as we rode by "hey you in the pink shirt!"
 Who likes warm hugs?
We do!
Olaf was so fun to meet.
 Gwen loved him.
She gave him an extra warm hug she said.

Across the street were a few Disney Jr show characters.  The girls chose to meet Jake (from Jake and the Neverland Pirates) because his line was shorter than Doc McStuffins.
And they said they like him better anyway.
 He liked them too!
 Group shot!
 Yo ho mateys!

We headed back to Carsland next.  Mommy and the girls went on Mater's Junkyard Jamboree.
Gwen showing off her cool shirt from Aunt Jill!
 Girls selfie!

It was a fun ride with the tractors.
More of the details in Carsland.
It really is amazing how much like the movie it is.
On our way down the street - so much to see.
Daddy and the girls with Stanley

Some of the details of things while we waited in line for the Radiator Springs Racers ride.
8 3/4 wonder of the world!
This was our last day and little reminders were popping up.

 Family selfie on the ride!
 This ride was pretty fun!
 Family shot.

 A Happy Place indeed!
 Until next time Route 66.
 One last look at Bugsland.
We got shrunk to bug size!
 Luckily Daddy didn't smoosh us!

 another reminder...bye bugsland!
We rode The LIttle Mermaid ride one last time.
Everyone loved this ride.
 Under the Sea!
 Ursula
 Kiss the Girl

Always a Happy Ending!
We got some photos taken with Walt and Mickey.
 One big happy family!
On our way out of California Adventure we ran into a few park photographers so we got a few more family pictures.
 With the red trolley.

One last look at the pier.
 The girls.
 And a family shot!

Goodbye California Adventure!
It was just after 11am when we left this park.  Daddy went to move our car from the hotel lot to the big Disney lot.  We checked out before we went to the parks after breakfast.
Mommy and the girls went over to Disneyland.
Mommy tried to get a nice sisters shot at the end of main street...but the girls were pictured out.  Before a brawl started we decided to go get on a ride.
The girls chose one of their favourites - Mr Toad's Wild Ride.
We had a little wait for it but worth it!
It was getting hot so we had a little ice cream treat then they were happy to pose for a sister photo!
 Awe!  Sisters in a teacup!
Sisters at the White Rabbit's door!
Sisters with the Evil Queen!
They loved meeting her.  They practiced their evil pose and nailed it.
She asked Cara to go get her some apples!
They were even agreeable to pose for some castle pictures!
 Little Princesses!
We went on a little path beside the castle and saw Snow White's Grotto and wishing well.
Aurora - Sleeping Beauty was there!
Daddy met up with us here also - just in time to meet Aurora!
 Had to get an autograph!
 And a picture.
Then the girls made wishes in the well.
Gwen told us later that she wished that she's never grow up so she could be a kid and have fun forever!
Cara wouldn't tell us what her wish was for fear it might not come true!
A few family shots in the hot sun with the castle.
 And Minnie and Mickey!

 Sisters!
You can just tell they are tired of posing!  ha!ha!

Lunch time in New Orlean's Square.
 Yum!
Lunch put us in the right place to ride another favourite again.
 Dead men tell no tales.

 That girl loves pirates!

Jack Sparrow!
After Pirates, the 3 girls went on Star Tours again which was super fun.  The girls then made custom droids at the Star Wars store.
Then Daddy and Cara went to wait to ride Indiana Jones.  Gwen wasn't tall enough for that ride so Mommy let Gwen choose what ride she wanted to ride again.

She chose It's A Small World
We had a bit of a wait.
We got to see the clock go off.
 A really neat thing!
 Gwen loves this "castle"!
 Some pics from the ride.

We made it through and had fun!
We met back up with Daddy and Cara at Tarzan's Treehouse.

It is a walk through type "ride".
The girls both like this movie and were looking forward to seeing the treehouse.

The view from the top was great.

This view had the Haunted Mansion on the top of Splash Mountain.

The girls discovering the kitchen of the treehouse.
We even found Mrs Pots and Ship from Beauty and the Beast there!

We had to finish up at the treehouse...we had a fastpass for another favourite ride....
Splash Mountain!
Really take a close look at Gwen and Cara's faces on this one.  They are hilarious!
They figured out posing for the ride cameras and were planning their expressions as we waited in line.  It worked out so great!

We had a snack and a break after the ride in the Winnie the Pooh area.

Had to stop at the Shooting Gallery in Frontierland!
Then we went to the Tiki Room!
In the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room
In the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room
All the birds sing words and the flowers croon
In the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room
Welcome to our tropical hideaway, you lucky people you!

This is a fun and unusual thing!  A Walt original with animatronic birds and tikis singing a catchy tune!

The girls remembered walking through the castle on our last trip so we went to do that again.
The castle looks so nice all decorated for it's 60th Birthday.

After the castle walk though (were we saw diaramas that told the Sleeping Beauty story) it was time for supper.
Gwen wanted a hot dog.
Cara wanted a Disneyland Corn Dog.
She gave it her approval.

You can see the Disney exhaustion in their eyes.
One of our last must-dos was ride the Peter Pan ride.
The line was long all the time so we had put it off.
But now with our Disney time running out we had to just wait.
 We got in line.
We waited (see the Evil Queen in the window).
 We waited.
 And waited.
The sun was going down.
It had been just over and hour!

Then it was our turn!
And it was great!

Next up we just had to do the Carousel.

And that was our final ride.

We hopped on the train at the top of the park and rode it down to the entrance.
We rode it through these displays.
The Grand Canyon.
 Prehistoric times.

 Baby dinos!

We stopped for a picture of the lamp above the firehouse.
It shows that Walt Disney's spirit lives on and is always present in the park.

We did some shopping then caught the bus back to the parking lot.  We saw some fireworks from the parking lot before driving back to Escondido around 10pm.

Our 4 days of Disney fun are over but our California Adventures continue!
We'll wrap up the rest of the trip in the next post!
