Parks & Rec

 After a very rainy week we had some sun on Saturday so we went to Glenmore Reservoir North Park and brought the girls' bikes along so they could ride them on the trails.

 They rode them as far as a playground!

 Cara took a break on the ride back to the car and played some grass-whistle while enjoying the view of the reservoir.

 Gwen loves her balance bike!

 Sunday we went on a playground adventure!  We chose a playground that we've never been to and off we went.  This one was in the neighbourhood of West HIllhurst.

 Another nice sunny day and the girls enjoyed a new playground.

 Cara on the big slide - it was super duper fast.

 Gwen loves slides but her first trip on this slide was a bit fast and she didn't like it.  So after awhile she agreed to go with Daddy and enjoyed it!

 So she also went with Cara!

 Cara is way too tall for the baby swings like this but she likes to squeeze in and swing anyway.

By the end of the day Gwen was back to solo trips down the big fast slide!

A Day in Drumheller

 Friday was a day off for Daddy and so we headed East to Drumheller for a day of Dinosaur exploration.

 We got up early and got to the Royal Tyrell Museum just after it opened at 10.

The girls really liked the baby dinos outside (Gwen kept saying "sooo cuuute!")

 Inside the statues were a little less than cute!

 They compared their hand prints to dino footprint fossils.

Cara was a bit cautious of the dark and the thing looming behind her....

 A Stegosaurus display gave them a chance to sit and have a snack.

 Gwen didn't even care what the buttons did she just wanted to press all the buttons!

 After the museum we went to the World's Largest Dinosaur!

We had a picnic then climbed all the stairs up to the top of the Dino for the view out his mouth!

The big dinosaur waved good bye to us as we drove to the nearest 7-11 for slurpees then back home to Calgary!
A great day and a great start to the picnic season!

A Week of Summer

 We had such a nice week with great hot weather it was like July in May!

On Monday we got some Slurpees and took a trip to the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary with Nana.

We saw some Canadian Geese up close.

 Some ducks swimming in the lagoon.

 A deer having a drink.

 Some gulls on the river.

 A chirping Robin.

 We watched this Heron catching fish!

 He was very still.

 Then he took off!

 On our way out we said hello to Mr Chickadee.

 Tuesday was a fun day!

The girls got new bicycles!

Gwen's in a running bike without pedals.

 Cara got her first 2 wheeler!

She was so happy and is really good!

 They had a nice ride around the neighbourhood.

 Gwen is walking with her bike now but is getting faster everyday.  Pretty soon she'll run, pick up her feet and coast down the sidewalk!

 On Mother's Day my little sweetheart brought me breakfast in bed and some nice presents.  It was a great day!

Later on we took Nana a plant and some cheesecake!

It was a very nice day and a nice visit :)

Gwen's First Sleepover

 Friday was a fun day.  Daddy was off work and it was a nice sunny, warm day.

The girls were both much better after their illnesses last week so we loaded up the wagon and walked down to the playground.

 Gwen had so much fun.  She is independent enough now to run around and climb by herself.

 The girls had a friendly game of hopscotch or as Gwen calls it: numbers!

 It was a good first day at the playground!

 Friday was also a big day because it was a Sleepover at Nana & Howie's Day!

Cara's been before but it was Gwen's first night away from home!

 They were so excited!

 And thanks to Nana's photos there is proof of the fun that was had.

 

 They especially enjoyed the jacuzzi tub - aka the bubble tub!

The girls had a great time and can't wait to go back.

Maybe next time Mommy won't be fighting a sinus infection and can get a good sleep out of the deal :)
