Christmas Catch Up Part 1

Well, here we are on January 2nd 2012 and the blog sat without and update since Dec 18.  We have been having lots of fun getting ready for Christmas, then with Christmas, then with New Year's.  Not to worry we have been taking lots of pictures and I'm going to get this blog caught up with a few posts so as not to overwhelm anyone with pictures of our fun family times!
Above is a collage of the Lions Festival of Lights at Confederation Park in Calgary.  We went one night after supper and had such an unexpected good time we went again 2 nights later.  The park has a huge long billboard type thing with lights all along it and then a little village area and a nice sliding hill.  Cara now wants to go sliding (once we get some more snow).  It is a great free event and we are glad we discovered it this year!
The girls had a meeting with Santa at Daddy's work party but they wanted to have another chat before the big day so we went to the Santa at the mall.  Cara and Gwen stayed brave and there were no tears!  Cara asked Santa what his favourite cookie is and he told her chocolate chip - so we got prepared some for Christmas Eve snack time!
Cara and our Snowman Pizza!
Cara enjoying Egg Nog.  Another wonderful trait she gets from Daddy!  Along with a love of olives!
Gwen all dressed up for church on Christmas Eve.  Both girls were very good during the service (that went on way too long for little kids!!).  Cara even got involved in the children's talk and volunteered to stand up in front of everyone.  So brave and so cute!  Gwen got involved by singing along with the hymns - her fav is the "glorias" during Angels We Have Heard On High!  She sings "ooooooo" so cute!
After church Gwen discovered that Santa had dropped of a special package while we were out: Special Christmas Magic Sleeping Dust Pyjamas!  And a night cap and slippers for Cara too!  The magic sleeping dust helped them go right to sleep!
Here they are. Aren't they cute?
Cara had been requesting a night cap for months and luckily Santa's Elves still knew how to make them - pretty sure they haven't had a request like this since the 1800s.
Another adorable shot.  The kids are just too cute!

So that ends this post.  I'll get another post up soon and get all caught up!
