Grampy's Visit in photos

Cara had a great visit with her Grampy or Gwampy as she called him. She liked having him read her books every evening before bed time.

After a few days of rain we took Grampy to the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary for a walk around and to look at some birds. Here Cara is looking at some ducks.

Cara is checking out the Bow River...or maybe the Elbow River...

Cara was a great guide.

Cara had a great time!

On Saturday it was nice and sunny and we went to Calaway Park (an amusement park). Here Cara is helping Adam deal with his fear of the train ride :)

Grampy wasn't afraid at all!

Cara went for a ride on the "SkyRider". Once she was on it she wasn't sure about the heights - notice the clutching of her hand on the post.

While we had lunch Cara took a tumble on the pavement and scraped both her knees :( The nice EMT at the first aid station gave her cool purple band aids and that made her feel better.

Group shot!

Cara's first time driving!

Cara on the carousel.

On Sunday we went to Bar U Ranch (a historic ranch south of Calgary). We got a horse drawn wagon ride around the ranch and the cowboy let Cara drive.

The horses took us across a creek.

Cara tried out a saddle!

And tried out the shower.

She helped guide Grampy from one building to the next.

It was a very sunny and hot day!

Cara's favourite thing was picking dandelions!

On Monday we went to the zoo. They now have robotic dinosaurs. Cara was not a big fan!

She waved at the gorillas.

And played in the kangaroo.

She danced with the elephants.

And rode a zebra!

All of the peacocks were walking around and this one gave us a nice show of his feathers.

We all had a great time with Grampy and hope he comes back soon. We are looking forward to seeing folks back in NB in August!

  2. Those are great photos! I'm with Cara on the robotic dinosaurs - not necessary!
I especially love the one of her on the carousel - or is that "cara"-sel?
We can't wait for you folks to come here! Then it might be time for another trip out West :)

  3. Does it freak you out when you look at these photos and your own kid looks exactly like you, Mary? That one of Dad reading the book is eerie.
